Addressing educational inequity, one “kahon” at a time.
Est. 2018
Kahon ng Karunungan is a non-profit organization that aims to reduce educational inequity in the Philippines and around the world.
The organization is youth-led, with most of its members being 18 and under. Over the past two years, KnK has distributed over 1500 self-learning kits to schools damaged by typhoons and volcanic eruptions.
Our Kahons
We distribute self-learning kits to disadvantaged schools, such as those which have faced infrastructural damages or are underfunded by the Filipino government. The aim of our "kahons" is to facilitate continued education outside of the classroom. Our workbooks include all four core subjects (English, Math, Science,
and Social Science).
The KNK Blog
We established a blog to shed light on the causes of educational inequity. This year, we hope to use technology to make educational resources available online to the remote areas of the world. Our monthly newsletter, Kahon Monthly, allows subscribers to receive updates on our initiative and four brand new educational articles written by our awareness team.
Fundraisers
Our storybook collection features short stories from the gifted students of local high schools. Each purchase provides a self-learning kit to a student without other alternatives for learning. You may also donate through our partnership drive with Edicute Incorporated to raise funds for indigenous school children in Sitio Upper Pusog.
