Malagnat

March 22, 2019

We distributed the kahons to the 327 students of Malagnat National High school - a school still suffering from the destruction caused by Typhoon Ompong. We also donated 2 laptops to the school.

As a result of the typhoon, the school had to build various temporary learning shelters to continue classes. However, due to limited resources and funds, the school still lacks bathrooms, roofs, school supplies, and other classroom resources.

“Describe your commute to school each day.”

Translated from Tagalog:

Often, we go home and walk for 30 minutes. When we get home, we are so tired because the route we take home is very mountainous.

“What are your plans after High School?”

Translated from Tagalog:
As I am in senior high school, I will go to college. Actually, I see in the future that I will donate something because I really sympathize with the school’s struggles. It’s very difficult to study like this, but I see in the future that the school will have potential. We are excelling even though we face certain challenges.

“What are your future aspirations?”

Translated from Tagalog:
My plan is to run for mayor, so I can somehow help the students in Malagnat. I will do everything so that they can learn a lot, especially the children from our school because we are increasing in number. More of us here in Malagnat want to learn.
